Arizona lawmakers vote to retain law protecting life at conception
AZ House Republicans blocked two attempts on Wednesday to repeal an 1864 law protecting life at conception. The law has been dormant due to Roe V Wade, but is now up for debate again.
This comes as abortion activists are working to get a constitutional amendment on the ballot this Fall to enshrine the right to abortion in the AZ constitution. A great reminder that this battle will continue, and we cannot rest on Roe v Wade being overturned!
Senate Dismisses Mayorkas Impeachment Articles
Less than three hours after the impeachment trial began, Senate Democrats voted to dismiss charges against Mayorkas.
The charges the House brought against him were, 1) accusing Mr. Mayorkas of refusing to enforce immigration laws; 2) Charging him with breaching public trust and making false statements to Congress.
This is the first time in history the upper chamber has moved to dispose of a trial before allowing the impeachment articles to be heard and votes on whether to convict or acquit.
Hidden Behind Climate Policies, Data From Nonexistent Temperature Stations
“Earth’s issuing a distress call,” said United Nations secretary-general António Guterres on March 19. “The latest State of the Global Climate report shows a planet on the brink.”
To compare and contrast climate changes, officials rely in part on temperature readings from the United States Historical Climatology Network (USHCN).
The problem? An increasing number of their stations that still report numbers don’t even exist anymore.
“They are physically gone—but still report data—like magic,” said Lt. Col. John Shewchuk, a certified consulting meteorologist. “NOAA fabricates temperature data for more than 30 percent of the 1,218 USHCN reporting stations that no longer exist.”
They record data from these non existent stations by taking the temperature readings from surrounding stations, and recording their average for the ghost station, followed by an “E,” for estimate.
Kennedy family members to publicly endorse Biden over RFK Jr.
Numerous members of the Kennedy family are set to endorse a Biden 2024 run. This includes Kerry Kennedy, the younger sister of Robert Kennedy Jr, who spoke at a Biden campaign stop this week.
It is unlikely that this will hurt RFK Jr, as his appeal is really to those who do not want to toe the Democratic Party line.
911 outages overnight in four states kept millions from contacting emergency operators
Although outages were fixed by Thursday morning, authorities have no idea what may have caused them. the Federal Communications Commission said, “We are aware of reports of 911-related outages and we are currently investigating.”
Some are speculating that this was a cyber attack, although there is no evidence behind the claim as of yet.
